Final update

Well tonight we met with our daughter as well two guys from the mobile crisis team. It was a really good meeting and she really opened up with them there. The also offered a number of follow up resources and suggestions that we plan try with her.

If anyone from winnipeg has any extra winter stuff they don't need the Mcdonald Youth Service shelter could use them. We'll be happy to try and arrange pick up or something. As a service they were wonderful and very helpful.

Sounds like a step in the right direction! I hope this works out well for all of you.

my thoughts are with you all...

Once upon a time I was Becca...my father would say "this is my house and to live here you must abide by the rules" thinking all the while that I would...

my response was always to walk out the door...only to return a few days later and cause a big fight between my mother and father so that she could get me back in the house...and then it would all happen again...

My poor mother often says she thought she should put a revolving door on the front of the house and it truly wasn't until the pair of them stood firm to me and even went so far as to nail the windows shut to keep me from sneaking in that I got the picture.

I was a long while coming around...but I did and now know that it was done because I'd really given them no alternative and that they truly do love me...of course..that's small consolation for the hurt you and your wife must feel...

stay strong...cos you do love her - it's the best way to get through to her...maybe the only way.

Bright Blessings

I hope this experience was what she needed. You two are clearly wonderful parents - when a child acts publicly with perfect candour and respect, great manners and attitude it clearly shows that they've been taught and raised well. What they choose to do privately shows not a lack of parenting, but a lack of personal refinement. Which can come, but OLY at the pace of the person who needs it, NOT at the urging of outside sources. Best hope!

I'm so sorry you're going through this with your family, Randilin. I think that as she matures, she will understand your reasons to having to act like that. She obviously loves you both, but can't deal with her emotions. May time heals her heart.

Kisses from Nydia.
